Hunter Scoma has found an athletic and academic home after he graduates Friday from Excelsior Springs High School.Recently, Scoma committed to study and play baseball at State Fair Community College in Sedalia. He’ll join a program that went 32-17 this season, including 17-6 in NJCAA Region 16 play.“State Fair is a small school and I immediately felt comfortable there, making a quick connection with the coaches,” he said.Scoma will join the Roadrunners after being a fouryear letterwinner in baseball at Excelsior Springs. During his high school career, he has helped the Tigers win three consecutive district titles and place third in 2023 in the Class 4 state tournament.Scoma also will join State Fair after a stretch playing summer club baseball for the Lumberjacks, coached by Shaun Marcum and Scott Collins.“Shaun Marcum and Scott Collins have had the biggest impact on my career,” he said....
