Another Excelsior Springs softballer is taking her game beyond high school. Senior Daelyn Williams has signed to continue her athletic career and education at Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods in Kansas City. Other schools Williams considered included North Central Missouri College in Trenton. She chose MCCMaple Woods because she could live at home and have a short commute, she said. Williams joins the Wolves after four seasons of starting for Excelsior Springs. Playing for coach Megan Gilbertson, she spent most of her time behind the plate, with some time at first base. During her career, she batted .310 with one home run and 46 RBIs. Williams credits her dad for much of her success. “My dad has had a major impact on me over the years,” she said. “He has pushed me throughout the years to become an overall better player and person.”
