Slow start hampers Tigers in tourney loss to Windsor

HIGGINSVILLE – Coming off a 59-54 win over Cameron Dec. 7 at Lafayette County of Higginsville in the Husker Classic, the Tigers were looking to find a way to put two wins together in varsity boys basketball. A slow start against Windsor put a damper on that. The Tigers fell behind early in their 39-26 loss to the Greyhounds Dec. 11 in the Husker Classic’s third-place game, as Windsor scored the first four points. The Tigers scored their first bucket around the 5-minute mark of the first quarter. The Greyhounds went on a 5-0 run after that to extend their lead to 9-2 at quarter’s end. Excelsior Springs outscored Windsor 7-4 the second quarter to cut the Greyhounds’ lead to four, 13-9, at halftime.
