EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Community members gathered at Tiger Bowl to raise money for the Strike Force for First Responders Safety Bowling Tournament.

Eight teams, including two from the Higginsville Fire Department, participated in the tournament and raised $1,247. The money raised went to HeroFundUSA Inc., an organization founded to meet the needs of first responders, and their families, in times of crisis.

Founded by the public in Missouri and Kansas, and funded by private and corporate contributions, HeroFundUSA is based in Blue Springs.

The top three teams in the tournament received prizes for their day’s success.

The team representing Tiger Bowl – Robert Shelton, Clint Bourne, Dewayne Day and Jerry Graham – came in first.

Ryan Crowley, Ryan Luack, Gary Crowley and Adam Crowley, calling themselves Dilligaf, come in second.

Team JLB finished third and consisted of Buddy Eason, James Scott, Josh Jones and Josh Bultman.
