Tigers go 3-for-3 in girls soccer

Three games, three wins. Such was Excelsior Springs’ schedule last week in varsity girls soccer. The Tigers started the week by downing Cameron 7-3 April 14 at Cameron. Sophomore Ava Morton started the scoring for Excelsior Springs off an assist from classmate Emma Pemberton. Junior Abby Rash scored the Tigers’ second goal, also the first goal of her hat trick. Rash’s next goal came off an assist from junior Bailey Carder. Carder scored an unassisted goal and then another with an assist from Rash. The two switched roles to finish Rash’s hat trick. Senior Lauren Mueller scored unassisted for Excelsior Springs’ final goal. Next, the Tigers won a 2-1 shootout thriller with Savannah on April 17 at Excelsior Springs. It was 1-1 after regulation and through overtime, with Rash providing Excelsior Springs’ goal off a pass from Carder. Morton and Carder finished their shootout kicks.
