Allegations of child sexual abuse against a church youth pastor took a significant turn after his bond request was denied. Excelsior Springs resident Donald Aaron Axtell, 37, is charged with two felonies, including second-degree statutory rape and possession of child pornography.

Detectives said identifying the vehicle that killed 35-year-old Mary Levingston was a development made possible through a combination of advanced technology, interagency teamwork and assistance from residents who shared camera footage from the area.

An Excelsior Springs man accused of showing up at a protected person’s home and flashing a handgun during an argument is out of jail after pleading not guilty to the charges. Myles Levi Casey, 28, is facing one felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and one misdemeanor charge of violating a protection order for an adult.
