Financial Peace course returns to Oasis

Families across Excelsior Springs will have another chance this fall to gain the tools for financial stability through a course that blends practical strategies with biblical principles. Oasis Outreach Ministries is preparing to launch its third annual Financial Peace University program, a nine-week course developed by financial author and radio host Dave Ramsey.

Fatal crash near airport

THE CLAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE is investigating a fatal plane crash that occurred just north of the Midwest National Air Center near Mosby. Deputies received a call just before noon on Aug. 27 reporting heavy smoke coming from a field near NE 140th Street and Rhodus Road. Upon arrival, deputies found a Cessna C340 fully engulfed in flames in a soybean field. At least two people were on board the aircraft. and have been confirmed deceased. Their identities have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Wednesday, August 6 At 8:35 a.m., William Graham, 18, was arrested for possession of drugs; outside warrant service.
