TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane closures scheduled on MO Route N in Clay County, July 30 - Sept. 6

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting pavement resurfacing operations on Missouri Route N between Seybold Road and MO Route 210 starting approximately Tuesday, July 30, until Friday, Sept. 6, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. resulting in various lane closures. All work is weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.

Plans to enhance senior meal program progressing

The City of Excelsior Springs has received approval from Meals on Wheels America (MOWA) to allow for plans to introduce a daily visit service along with meal delivery. Currently, the City of Excelsior Springs and Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation and Community Center (ESPRCC) have teamed up with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to offer meal services at the Community Center for seniors.

In an effort to prevent electronic scams, the Clay County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO) is once again partnering with PC’s for People to host an electronics recycling event after the last one showed great success.

WHFPD volunteers promoted

Four Wood Heights Fire Protection District (WHFPD) members have been promoted after years of volunteering their time for the community. Josh Brown, Ryan Mc-Cullough and Garron Grass have been promoted from captain to assistant chief and Kody Gaines from firefighter to captain.
