Bessie “Jean” Baker

Bessie “Jean” Baker, 92, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Aug. 23, 2022 at home.  

Jean was born in Maryville, TN on June 29, 1930 to William Barker and Lyda Medlin, both deceased. She grew up in Santa Paula, CA. On July 1, 1948 she married Francis Baker.  

They moved to Missouri and raised four children in Excelsior Springs. Stanley and Dennis both preceded Jean into Glory. Linda (Dan) Howerton lives in Excelsior Springs and Gail lives in KCMO.  

Kevin Lee Bradshaw

Kevin Lee Bradshaw, 55, of Osage Beach, formerly of Excelsior Springs, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Aug. 19, 2022.  

Kevin was born on Aug. 14, 1967, in Kansas City, MO. Kevin graduated in 1985 from Excelsior Springs High School and was a member of the United Methodist Church. As the baby of five boys, Kevin was the one who tested the limits. He was passionate about his family and was always the protector of his twin brother, Keith.

Jasmine “Jazzy” “Sissy” Marie Eastland

Jasmine “Jazzy” “Sissy” Marie Eastland, 6, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Aug. 11, 2022. 

A memorial visitation will be held 5-6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19, 2022, with celebration of life service following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO.  

Jasmine was born Feb. 19, 2016, at Liberty Hospital to Christopher M. Eastland, Sr. and Dove Knutson.

Ronald Scott

Body

Ronald Scott, 97, of Excelsior Springs, passed away on Aug. 12, 2022. He was born near Orrick, MO on his family farm, and enjoyed being on his farm his entire life. Upon graduating from high school, Ronald joined the Navy and served in the Aleutian Islands. He worked as an electrician at the TWA overhaul base for over 35 years.  

Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Scott.  

Velma Darlene Wallace

March 4, 1942 – July 31, 2022 

The Lord called Velma Darlene Wallace home at the end of July, after celebrating the Fourth with her extended family. She was born in Soldier, IA, lived in Independence, MO for most of her life, then moved to Excelsior Springs after the flood of 1993.  

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly A Prock, of the home; two brothers, Duane Anderson and Eddie Malcolm of Independence; and four sisters, Eula Parsons of Blue Springs, Marilyn Hoffarth, Sharon McBroom, and Jeanette Hay of Independence.   

Barbara J. Armstrong

After a long struggle with cancer, Barbara J. Armstrong of Excelsior Springs passed peacefully from this life on the evening of July 25. She was proceeded in death by her husband and soulmate Harold Armstrong, also of Excelsior Springs.   

Janet Kaye Campbell

Body

Janet Kaye Campbell, 69, passed away Aug. 16, 2022, she joins her husband of 46 years, Donnie who passed away July 26, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held 4-7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2022, with memorial service following at Lawson Baptist Church, 18603 US-69 Hwy, Lawson, MO.  A private family inurnment will be held at Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, MO.  

David D. Lodwick

David D. Lodwick, 92, passed away at home surrounded by family on Aug. 5, 2022. 

David was born Mar. 15, 1930, in Excelsior Springs to John S. Lodwick and Ethel Forsyth Lodwick. He attended Excelsior Springs public schools and graduated in 1948, during which time he earned the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts. He attended Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant, IA and graduated with a degree in Business and Economics in 1952.  

David D. Lodwick

Douglas Struby

Body

Douglas Struby passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 6, 2022. Doug was born in Moberly, MO on Feb. 17, 1952, to Harry and Irene Struby.  

He graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1970 and Baker University in 1975, where he played basketball.  

Doug was a kind soul who always enjoyed meeting new people, was loyal to his friends, and was a HUGE animal lover. His true pride and joy were his family…especially his grandkids, nieces, and nephews.  

Donna Dee (Bayless) Jacques

Donna Dee (Bayless) Jacques, 85, of Valley Manor in Excelsior Springs, and formerly of Westbrook of Kearney, passed away Aug. 9, 2022. 

Donna was born Apr. 11, 1937, in Crawford County, MO, the third of five children of Samuel Christopher and Martha Ellen (Ferris) Bayless. Donna retired as a Quality Appraisal Specialist for the Federal Government. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs, the Order of the Eastern Star, and NARFE.
