Excelsior Springs is on a hot streak in varsity boys soccer. Following Monday’s win over visiting Raytown South, the Tigers are 9-5 and on a five-game winning streak season, with two regularseason games left before district competition starts on Oct.

ES softballers enter postseason; finish regular season 11-13

It’s postseason time for Excelsior Springs in varsity softball. At press time, the fourth-seeded Tigers were slated to open the Class 4 District 8 Tournament Thursday against fifthseeded, Independence-based William Chrisman at Miracle Field, with the winner to face the Kearney-Lincoln College Prep winner in the semifinals of the single-elimination tournament at 12:45 p.m.

The back nine holes of the Excelsior Springs Golf Course can be challenging for golfers. That stretch can be challenging for distance runners, too, as some high schoolers were probably made aware of – or reminded of – on Oct.
