Terri Irons saw her induction into the Excelsior Springs High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Aug. 10 in the Performing Arts Center as more than a personal honor.

An Aug. 20 preseason jamboree with visiting Kearney and Chillicothe gave the Tigers a phase of their game to hone as they prepare to open their varsity boys soccer season next week.

On Aug. 19, Excelsior Springs varsity football coach Mark Faubion and his staff glimpsed how their Tigers might match up against other teams.

The Tigers aren’t concerned about facing new competition this varsity girls golf season, according to coach David Stalder. Like Excelsior Springs’ other sports programs, the girls golf team will be affiliated with the Greater Kansas City Suburban Conference-Blue Division.

Excelsior Springs has some big shoes to fill in varsity boys soccer. Two of those shoes were filled by Ethan Edwards.
