EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Historic Preservation Commission accepts nominations for their Historic Preservation Awards Program until 5 p.m. April 13.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – City staff installed an eco-conscious sculpture at Century Park, Mayor Sharon Powell told city leaders during a March 18 work session at the Hall of Waters. A large depiction of a flower, the piece is crafted “completely of recycled playground equipment,” Powell said.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council agreed to a bid by Presley Solutions of Liberal, Kansas, for a new irrigation system pump panel for the golf course. Three companies vied for the project, Head Golf Course Superintendent Frank Conrick told city leaders.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Some city agencies freed space to store records. Per a resolution passed March 21 by the City Council at the Hall of Waters, the Excelsior Springs Police Department received permission to shred some records March 25.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Students from Excelsior Springs Middle School will share poems from 6 to 8 p.m. April 8 at the Bohemian Sage Gallery, and a published poet from Kansas City will attend, based on information from teacher Gina Calvin.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The summer learning plan will have three objectives this year, Career Center Director Mark Bullimore told district leaders March 14 at the Support Services Center. “(We will) have the biggest and best summer school we’ve ever had, we’re going to have the most fun we’ve ever had and we want to create … repeatable programming,” Bullimore said in presenting the plan shortly before approval by the Board of Education.
