JEFFERSON CITY – Deer, coyotes and other wildlife are evident in rural Missouri and pose a danger when jumping in front of vehicles. The Missouri Department of Transportation reminds motorists to be prepared for the sudden appearance of wild animals on all roads during the cooler fall months.

City merges parks, center director jobs

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council and Parks and Recreation Board, or PRB, agreed to merge two positions, pending board approval Tuesday, Parks and Recreation Director Nate Williams told city leaders.

School district leaders locate additional substitute teacher prospects

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The school district has found prospects to help address the substitute teacher labor shortage. A career fair drew 35 people – 10 more people than the district had on the substitute list before the event, Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson told district leaders during the Board of Education’s Oct.
