Cryptocurrency usage has seen a significant rise, bringing with it a surge in cryptocurrency scams and unlawful activities. The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office has raised alarm over drug dealers’ use of hardware wallets to mask their funds.
THE CLAY COUNTY Prosecutor’s Office recently organized a training session for police departments in the Clay County area. The training provided law enforcement personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively prevent and report cryptocurrency scams and other forms of illegal activity. The city of Excelsior Springs is reaching out to the community to ask for support in securing the opportunity to host the prestigious 2025 Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) conference. Excelsior Springs Economic Development Director Melinda Mehaffy and Excelsior Springs Area Chamber of Commerce President Brian Rice attended a previous CEC conference and knew then the city wanted to apply to host the event in 2025.
