Victoria Lynn (Gerdes) (Acker) Miller was born Feb. 14th, 1966 in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and relinquished for adoption to the State of Nebraska, in Gordon Nebraska at age 3 months, she was adopted by Bob and Marilyn Gerdes of Lincoln, Nebraska and joined the family of 3 brothers, Robert Todd, Dane Michael and Kipp Allen.  A few years later, another daughter Jackilyn Jennifer joined the family.

Gary Franklin Hill, 80, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Thursday August 5, 2021.  He passed peacefully at home with family after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

ESSD offers COVID procedures, ‘safe return’ plan

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – With the COVID-19 Delta variant making more children sick than the original virus, the school board voted Monday to require masks in school. This follows the district’s earlier measures in anticipation of schools opening.

Mill hosts info session

LAWSON – Representatives from Missouri State Parks held an informational meeting Wednesday at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site, 26600 Park Road North, Lawson. The park service invited the public to share comments and ask questions about the park and operations there.
BUILT IN 1860, a year before the start of the Civil War, steam-powered Watkins Mill still contains early textile milling equipment. The park offers several additional buildings, including an eightsided schoolhouse and a church.
