Local investigation uncovers $97K gold scam, Texas man charged

A Texas man has been charged after investigators say he traveled to Excelsior Springs to pick up more than $97,000 in gold from a resident who had been targeted in an impersonation scam. Sai Praveen Kommana, 29, of Frisco, TX, is charged with first-degree financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person.
