A Texas man has been charged after investigators say he traveled to Excelsior Springs to pick up more than $97,000 in gold from a resident who had been targeted in an impersonation scam. Sai Praveen Kommana, 29, of Frisco, TX, is charged with first-degree financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person.

Efforts to strengthen connection and involvement across the community took another step forward as Thrive Excelsior introduced a new way for residents to stay engaged.
