An old proverb is coming true for me. At least from a sports perspective.

COLUMBIA – To minimize the spread of COVID-19, University of Missouri Extension faculty and staff have found ways to serve learners and deliver programs.

ST. LOUIS – The Parson administration is recruiting inactive medical professionals to help combat COVID-19, which could mean asking retirees to reenter an environment known to be more dangerous to older people.

JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Mike Parson announced the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations’ Division of Employment Security has received its first operational guidance related to the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation program under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act of 2020.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives is one of 75 institutions selected nationally to participate in this year’s Collections Assessment for Preservation program.

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Children in Clay and Ray counties continue being fed physically and mentally by the Excelsior Springs School District, though the threat of the coronavirus has closed every school in the district and across the state, Superintendent Dan Hoehn said.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the lackadaisical attitude shown by some government officials, who seemed more concerened about the threat to the economy than to human life, before they grudgingly addressed what had been a threat, and now is a horrible reality: the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.

RICHMOND – Community Bank of Missouri announced the election of Brad Hogan and John Landwehr to the bank’s board of directors.

JEFFERSON CITY – The Governor’s Office is allowing the Department of Health and Senior Services and the Department of Commerce and Insurance to waive regulations for registered nurses.
