Nellie Louise Whitham, 73, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021. She was born on Monday, Sept. 20, 1948, in Marceline, MO, the daughter of the late David Clancy and Marjorie Bush.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Leroy Sterling, Sr., 69, of Excelsior Springs, MO. James passed away Oct. 9, 2021, in Liberty, MO. He was surrounded by loved ones.

James was born on Sept. 1, 1952, in Iowa to William and Marian Sterling.

Stephen Brandt Owens Sr.

Stephen Brandt Owens, Sr., of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. He was 47 years old.

Steve was born in Kansas City, MO on Jan. 8, 1974, to Buddy Owens, Sr. and Mary Brand Owens. He was the youngest of his four siblings.

Steve has left behind his three children, sons, Stephen Owens, and Zachariah Owens, daughter Abigail Owens, and grandson, Abram Owens. 

Hazel J. Kelsey-Clark

Hazel J. Kelsey-Clark, 94, of Excelsior Springs, MO, passed away Oct. 2, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Hazel was born April 1, 1927, in Walnut, KS to parents Stella and Milburn Kelsey. Hazel was one of eight children.

She enjoyed her flower gardens, nature, studying geology, and dinosaurs.

God blessed Barryann Marie Martens and called her home to Heaven on October 5, 2021, to be with Jesus and await the resurrection of the dead. A visitation will be held from 8:30-10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Excelsior Springs, MO, with a service to follow at 10:00. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO.

Shannon Bosley (Easler), 51, of Holt, MO, passed away peacefully in her home on Oct. 2, 2021. 

Mrs. Bosley was born Sept. 16, 1970, in Augusta, GA. Shannon attended Lawson High School and worked for Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center for 27 years (where she was awarded The Commitment to Caring Award) as well as Home Depot Garden Center. She loved gardening, cooking, fishing, Christmas, and spending time with her husband, kids, and grandchildren.
