Reverend Phillip Dean Dillon

Reverend Phillip Dean Dillon, 81, of Excelsior Springs, went to be with Jesus on July 5, 2022. He passed away unexpectedly at Liberty Hospital with loving family at his side. 

Phil was born February 1, 1941, in rural Clay County, MO, the youngest of eight children of William Ira and Ethel (Colley) Dillon.  He graduated from Kearney High School and attended William Jewell College. Phil was united in marriage to Patsy Lea Hodgson on June 12, 1959 in Liberty, MO.

Randy Owens

Randy Owens, 56, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away June 29, 2022, from a car accident.  

Mr. Owens was born Oct. 15, 1965, in Omaha, NE. Everyone described Randy as a one-of-a-kind guy. Randy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just being outside. Cars were his profession since his early teens when he started working in his uncle's shop. He was a self-taught man of many trades not limited to cooking, woodwork, and fabrication and auto body work.

Angela "Angie" LeMay (Sundermeyer) Peebles

Angela "Angie" LeMay (Sundermeyer) Peebles, 61 of Excelsior Springs, MO, died June 25, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospice House following a seven-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Angie was born June 24, 1961, in Fort Dodge, IA and attended Fort Dodge Schools until moving to Excelsior Springs, MO. 

William Hershall Gray

Beloved father and husband, William Hershall Gray, passed away on June 22, 2022.   

Hershall was a life-long resident of Excelsior Springs and Wood Heights, MO and fought a valiant fight against cancer and heart failure over the past four years.  He was born in Excelsior Springs to Ellen Nadeen (Hughes) and William Cleo Gray on Aug. 5, 1954.   

Dr. Arthur K. Roos

Dr. Arthur K. Roos of Liberty, MO lived a remarkable 96 years before passing away peacefully on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Art was born in a log cabin in Mt. Vernon, Indiana on July 15, 1925, to Arthur Christian and Elfrieda Morlock Roos. His family relocated to Wood River, IL to pursue better opportunities during the Depression, and it’s there that Art first met his future wife, Doris E. Davis. Shortly after graduating high school, Art was called in July of 1943 to serve his country in World War II at the age of 17.

Richard C. Waring

Richard C. Waring, 86, Kearney, MO passed away July 4, 2022. 

Richard was the oldest of three children born to Bert and Rita Waring. He grew up in Excelsior Springs and graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1954. During his high school years, he was an accomplished athlete, attended Boys State and received his Eagle Scout Award.

James (Jim) Edward Engelhard

James (Jim) Edward Engelhard, age 84, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. 

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Park Baptist Church, Brookfield with Pastor David Blakely officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield, Missouri.
