Boys grapplers place third at Tiger Classic

Excelsior Springs came within 4.5 points of finishing second at its own boys wrestling tournament – and within 46.5 points of winning it. Led by three individual champions, Excelsior Springs tallied 143 points and placed third at the Tiger Classic.

New year, new laws

Each new year brings new legislation, and as 2023 draws to a close, Missouri has raised the minimum wage to $12.30 per hour for private employers. Up 30 cents from 2023, the Department of Labor explained that the wage rate for private and non-exempt businesses is now based on the increase or decrease of the cost of living per the Consumer Price Index.

ES community legend honored with highway dedication

A recent initiative came to pass in Excelsior Springs as a portion of U.S. 69 Highway was renamed in honor of Vic Bonuchi for his career accomplishments coaching high school baseball, football and wrestling, as well as his contributions to the athletes and people in the community he affected.
