The Excelsior Springs School District has officially announced the arrival and dismissal procedures for the new Lewis Elementary school, which is set to open when students return from winter break on Jan. 13.

Ryne Marcum and Cooper Collins are Lee’s Summit Holiday Tournament champions. Marcum, a senior, won the 144-pound title.

Analese Happy and Lilly Goetz led Excelsior Springs to a top-10 finish in the girls team standings at The Battle at the Katy Trail. Happy, a sophomore; and Goetz, a first-year high schooler, each placed fifth at the Dec.

Vera Davis Vera Mae (Anderson) Davis, 94, of Excelsior Springs passed away Dec. 13 after a long and fulfilling life.
