Council approves street maintenance agreements

Three agreements have been approved for street maintenance projects to advance infrastructure improvements which will affect several neighborhoods. The Excelsior Springs City Council approved three agreements with McAnany Construction, Vance Brothers and All Pro Asphalt.

Holst announces retirement after decades of dedication

After more than three decades of dedication to the Excelsior Springs School District a longtime teacher and coach has announced his retirement at the end of the school year, marking the conclusion of a career that has influenced countless students and athletes.

Improvement is Albertson’s emphasis for ESTF

Excelsior Springs track coach Jonah Albertson has one goal he wants his 100 athletes to achieve this season: to continuously improve. “While we celebrate medals, we also celebrate personal records and offer opportunities to each athlete, and we have had a strong start to the season,” Albertson said.

Baseballers eye another district title

The Excelsior Standard, March 21, 2025 Iletta Faye (Swartz) Pulley of Lawson passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from natural causes. Iletta was born Saturday, April 25, 1936, in Amity, the daughter of the late Harry and Mollie (Hines) Swartz.

Ashworth places fourth at nationals

An Excelsior Springs alum has become a three-time college All-American wrestler. DamonAshworth, a 2021 graduate and redshirt junior at the University of Central Missouri, secured his latest All-American honor by placing fourth in the 184-pound division recently at the NCAA Division II national tournament.
