Clay County Circuit Judge Shane T. Alexander has spent nearly two decades on the bench, helping people find a path to recovery through the county’s treatment courts.

The Clay County Commission recently honored Alexander for his 18 years of service as a circuit judge, recognizing his contributions to the county’s justice system and the people it serves.

Commissioner JoAnn Lawson, who presented the resolution, described Alexander as someone whose work has profoundly impacted others. Before reading the resolution, she recalled hearing a treatment court graduate explain the difference Alexander had made in her life.

“She said he saw in me something that I didn’t see in myself,” said Lawson. “Think about that. That is amazing to me.”
