EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Board of Education named Dr. Melissa Miller assistant superintendent of academic services. “I am excited and honored for the opportunity to continue my career in Excelsior Springs as the next assistant superintendent of academic services,” Miller said. “I have had the privilege of working in this school district for my entire career in education, and I am overjoyed for this next step to further support the students of this great community. We have an amazing and supportive staff who are all dedicated to raising the standards for our students, and I can’t wait to further support that charge.” Miller will begin her new duties July 1. At the same time, Dr. Dan Hoehn, the overall superintendent of schools, will retire. He is set to be replaced by Dr. Travis Hux. ...
