EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Police Department staff and community celebrated the retirement of Chief Clint Reno and Lt. Paul White. Reno was with the department for 27 years. He plans to use his retirement to relax and to work for the city’s information technology department. Reno’s advice to the next chief is to adapt to today’s world and to take care of the staff. The Excelsior Springs community is what makes the job worthwhile, Reno said. White was with the department for 24 years. He started on the road, served as a school resource officer and retired as a patrol commander. After retirement, White said he plans to go camping and spend time relaxing. Interim Chief Chris Weber will serve until his retirement toward the end of this year.
