Life-sized silhouettes began appearing in high-traffic spots across Clay County this month, part of a new sheriff’s office campaign designed to stop people in their tracks and start conversations about domestic violence.The initiative, called Project Silhouette, recently launched to coincide with Domestic Violence Awareness Month and pairs a stark visual with true, anonymized stories drawn from recent sheriff’s office reports.“The idea for Project Silhouette actually stems from a training I attended a few years ago,” said Community Engagement Sergeant Megan Blackburn.“Something similar was presented there and it really stuck with me. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to bring that concept to our community – it’s been on my mind for quite a while.”Launching the project during Domestic Violence Awareness Month aligned with its purpose of raising awareness, supporting survivors and sparking difficult but necessary conversations....
