Two minor home repair agreements were approved during the recent Excelsior Springs City Council meeting.The first agreement was with Rebuilding Together Kansas City for a minor home repair and modification program, while the second was with Northland Neighborhoods Inc., which supports residents aging in place.“This is a proactive approach to help people stay in their homes and age in place,” explained Excelsior Springs Neighborhood Specialist Laura Mize. “These programs have been identified as best practices by the National League of Cities and the Communities for All Ages program. The services will include minor home repairs provided by contractors hired by Rebuilding Together Kansas City; although we did not have an agree with them this past year, they still provided services to 19 homes in the city of existence rates.”Mize stated individuals of any age can participate in this program.
