After nearly 13 years, the city of Excelsior Springs is losing a highly valued public works employee. T.R.

Two candidates have qualified for the Excelsior Springs City Council and because there were no other candidates vying for seats, the two incumbents will keep their seats at the table. However, the matter will still appear on the April 2 ballot.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department reported the following arrests handled recently by the department. Tuesday, March 6 At 8:25 a.m., Jamie Rissell, 32, was arrested for failure to appear.

With a “Rock Around the Clock” theme, Excelsior Springs is gearing up for the upcoming Silver Prom. The Silver Prom — solely for those ages 60 and over — will take place from 2 p.m.
