EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Dollar General is open at 1653 Meadowlark Lane in Excelsior Springs, the company announced. The new store will employ up to 10 people.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – An estimated 200 people attended the Excelsior Springs Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. Hosted by Mayor Sharon Powell on April 19 at The Elms Hotel and Spa, the event brought together a variety of business and area government leaders, along with community members.

The construction cost is about $6 million, Parks and Recreation/Community Center Director Nate Williams said.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Downtown Excelsior Partnership, or DEP, is getting Placer.ai software to monitor downtown area visitor traffic. Per City Council approval April 18 at the Hall of Waters, the DEP received a $7,000 matching grant to buy the software.
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Superintendent Travis Hux foresees “a happy ending” to what “feels like a horror movie”: Excelsior Springs School District’s deficit spending. An amended budget approved April 11 by the Board of Education at the Support Services Center might be a step toward that happy ending.
