SAFE discusses weatherization program

Details about weatherization assistance for lowincome residents were recently provided to the Excelsior Springs community. The Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program provides free, costeffective, energy-efficient home improvements for homeowners and renters, according to Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City (CAAGKC) Outreach Specialist Julia Powell, who spoke at a recent Substance Abuse Free Environments (SAFE) meeting.

Public’s help needed in finding theft suspect

Community gathers to cut ribbon at new school

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS and highschool cheerleaders were on hand for the ribbon cutting at Lewis Elementary, marking the opening of the school. “The Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) has completed construction of Lewis Elementary and Cornerstone Elementary without raising the tax rate to do so,” said ESSD Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson.
