The two secured their tournament spots by placing fourth in their respective weight classes at the Class 1 District 4 Tournament, held Feb. 9-10 at Kearney. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations, the top four finishers in each weight class qualified for state.
Happy qualified in the 110-pound division. After receiving a first-round bye, she lost in the second round on a tiebreaker, then put together four straight wins to reach the third-place match, where she lost by a secondperiod pin.
