Arthur R. Hartman, 79, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020.

Arthur was born March 10, 1941, in Gary, Indiana, to Arthur R. Hartman Sr. and Betty Ann (Powers) Harman.

He married Donna (Backenstoss) Hartman Sept. 28, 1983, at the Lake of the Ozarks. Donna survives of the home.

Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Germany at the same time as Elvis and even met him. In 1972, he moved to Kansas City for work. He was a terminal manager for Freight Consolidation Services and a resident of Excelsior Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Donna (Backenstoss) Hartman; daughters, Bobbi Jo Dunlap of Excelsior Springs, April Maulsby of Richmond; two estranged children, Daniel and Dawn; sister, Patricia Buvala (William “Bill,” deceased) of Gary. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur R. Harman Sr. and Betty Ann (Powers) Harman; cousin, Donald Hartman; and other aunts, uncles and cousins from Indiana.
