Doris Hughes, 64, of Kansas City passed away March 14, 2026, at her home.

Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, with the service following, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs.

Mrs. Hughes was born May 1, 1961, at Excelsior Springs Hospital to Delbert and Donna O’Dell Shea.

Doris graduated in 1979 from Excelsior Springs High School.

She worked for Farmland Industries as a print buyer. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, restoring vintage furniture and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her father Delbert in 1999. Survivors include her husband, Burton Hughes; daughter, Anne Hughes; mother, Donna Werle; sisters, Debra O’Dell and Denice Belcher; and many nieces and nephews.
