Douglas MacArthur Brock, 81, of Excelsior Springs passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Doug was born March 17,1942, to Joe and Cassie Brock of Excelsior Springs.
On Jan. 28, 1967, he married Linda Clevenger and raised their family in Excelsior Springs. His main priority was being a devoted husband, Doug Brock
father and grandfather.
He started his career at Avsco and worked at the same location until his retirement from Gilmour. Upon his retirement, he spent his time enjoying his grandkids, attending all their sporting, theatrical and choral events.
Doug was a Marine and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Cassie Brock; brothers, George Brock, Jim Brock and Bob Brock; sisters, Anna Hyder, Norma Wierzbicki, Nellie Brock, Elaine Mills and Mary Reynolds; and his daughter-in-law, Kerri Brock.
Doug leaves a legacy of love and memories with his wife, Linda; two children, Ken Brock (Kerri) and Kathy Postoak (Tony); and four grandchildren, Kennedy Brock, Karissa Brock, Kael Brock and Kaiden Postoak.
The visitation took place 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Bross & Spidle Chapels, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, followed by a service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at First United Methodist Church, 1650 Rainbow Blvd., Excelsior Springs.
Burial followed the funeral service at the Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Semper Fi Fund in Doug’s name.
