HELEN L. ROGERS-WILLIAMS
Helen Louise Rogers-Williams would like to let you know that her work on Earth is done. She received an offer no one could refuse, for an appointment from which she will not return. This assignment comes with a huge bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. She has gone to Heaven, where there is no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
Helen was born Oct. 2, 1923, as the second child of nine in Missouri City, to Ira and Mabel Rogers. Helen married Billy Williams of Richmond on June 16, 1948. Helen resided in Richmond for the majority of her life.
Many remember Helen and her love of high heels. Helen loved to love on her family. She shared her love of cooking and taught many of her grandkids how to cook and bake. Helen was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Williams; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
Helen is survived by her brother, Charles Rogers of Liberty; son, Donald Gene Williams and his wife Sherry of Gladstone; son, Steve Williams and his wife Janet of Excelsior Springs; grandchildren, Darrell, Danny, Dale, Jessica, Shelly and Kennedy. Helen also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, at Richmond Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Helen’s name to “Rayville Christian Union Church.”
