Kim Allen Curtis of Excelsior Springs, Missouri was born on November 12, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jack Francis Curtis and Patricia Ann (Grassley) Curtis. He left this Earth on October 20, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4-5:30pm with memorial service following at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, 217 W. Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO. 64024.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to Harvesters.

How does one begin to condense a life into a few simple paragraphs, especially one that feels gone too quick, too soon? Kim was a character, quick with a smile, a compliment and a cheesy joke that he’d be sure to laugh at harder than anyone. He loved the outdoors, including hunting, playing golf, and fishing for crappie, especially at his daughter’s pond. A one-time member of the Marines, he was extremely patriotic and an avid supporter of those in the military. His biggest passion was riding his Harley, a hobby that found him many friends, adrenaline rushes, and peace of mind. Kim at his best was full of life - spontaneous and ornery, silly and caring, full of affection and faith. He loved his grandkids more than anything. In fact, Kim was a favorite amongst almost all kids who met him, not afraid to talk and listen to them, or get on the floor and play with them. The joke was that they got along with him so well because he was on their level, but the truth is that they could recognize his good heart and playful spirit. Kim is one who will not be forgotten by anyone who had the privilege to know him.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Patricia, two of his brothers, Bruce Allan Curtis and Jack David Curtis, and many close friends he considered family. He leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Jill Curtis (Muns); Daughters, Karli Stecklein (Ben Clark) and Kasey Gordon (Kory); Stepson Demetri Tsakiris; Grandsons Tyler, Gage and Kade; Granddaughters Mya and Ryan; Brothers Keith Curtis (Robin) and Sheldon Linhart (Amy); Sister Patty Alsbury (Jason); Stepbrother Dan Linhart; Stepsister Vicki Shaw; Nephews Brian Miller and Matt Curtis; Nieces Jodi Lynn (Josh), Jordan Parsons (Jarod), Madison Alsbury, Brennan Alsbury; Great Nieces and Nephews, Blaze Miller, Dawson Miller, Luke Lynn and Ellie Lynn, as well as many extended family members, in-laws and friends.

Kim will be greatly missed, but we take comfort knowing he is at peace and free of pain. In our minds his spirit is speeding down a country road at sunset on his Harley, warm breeze on his skin, smile on his face, the souls that have gone before him at his side.
