Margaret Grayson

Margaret Ann Grayson, 85, of Kansas City, formerly of Wood Heights, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City. Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Richmond to Richard and Melinda Williams, she was a high school graduate and attended business school. Margaret Ann retired from banking after 30 plus years of service. After her retirement from banking, she worked for Tri-County Mental Health as a social worker.

She was a member of the St. John CME Church in Richmond, where she was the church pianist, sang in the choir, served as stewardess and was in the Missionary Society. Margaret worked in the church kitchen and taught Sunday school.

Margaret loved to paint, sew and work in her garden. She loved to help people and had a huge heart.

On Nov. 16, 1959, she married Levi Delbert Grayson, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2017. She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her son, Arrando (Valerie) Grayson of Kansas City; Monia Grayson, whom she raised as a daughter; and her daughter, Aisha Grayson.

Other survivors include her grandsons, Eric and Damien Grayson; great-granddaughters, Brianna and Erica Grayson; brothers, Richard Arlen Williams, Charles Allen Williams and Robert Edward Williams; sister, Marilan Joyce Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Healing farewell services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at the St. John CME Church, 1625 E. Main St., Richmond. Interment will be in the Windy Hill Cemetery, Wood Heights. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family suggests memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
