Marvin Gene Rowell, 62, of Richmond passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital.

He was born on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1959, in Smithville, the son of the late Delbert and the late Berniece (née Carpenter) Rowell.

He married Angeline Powell on July 20, 1985, in Parkville. Together, they raised one son, Brandon, in Ray County.

Marvin worked as a Packer for Owens-Corning Fiberglass in Fairfax, Kansas, retiring in 2000.

Marvin was a cowboy fan, his favorite being John Wayne. He also enjoyed making knives and such for his friends.

In addition, Marvin was an avid hunter, deer and turkeys being his favorite.

Survivors include: his wife, Angie Rowell of Richmond; son, Brandon Scott (Leigh Ann) Rowell of Rayville; grandson, Corbin Emory Rowell of Rayville; and granddaughter, McKinley Jade Rowell of Rayville. Other survivors include his sisters, Joann (Bob) Berkeen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Rosie (Ernie) Holthouse of Liberty and Karen Brooks of Kansas City; and brothers, Wayne (Della) Rowell of Gladstone and Everett (Beth) Rowell of Lawson.

Marvin was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon K. Rowell; and two brothers, Leonard Rowell and David Rowell.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. The funeral will follow at 1:30.

Services will be officiated by Jay Bettis.
