Michael Curtis James of Richmond passed away Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, at Liberty Hospital from complications of COVID-19.

Michael was born July 2, 1972, at Excelsior Springs Hospital to Stephen and Shirley (Anderson) James of Lawson.

Michael attended Maple Valley Schools for the Severely Disabled. He received many Special Olympics awards, especially in bowling. He was employed at Ideal Industries Sheltered Workshop for 33 years.

Michael was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond. He was a dedicated Chiefs and Royals fan.

He is survived by Stephen and Shirley James of Lawson; Roy Anderson of Spring Hill, Kansas; two brothers, Roy Adair of Richmond and David (Crystal) James of Lawson; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by Norman and Marie James, and Dorothy Anderson.

There will be no service at this time because of the coronavirus. The family will have a celebration of life event at a later date.
