Michael Palier, 63, Richmond, passed away Oct. 27, 2024, at his home. A visitation will be held 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, with a memorial service to begin at 6:30, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Richmond, 9502 Leathers Road. Mike was born Feb. 9, 1961, in Richmond to Anton and Ardith (Campbell) Palier.

Mr. Palier retired from Missouri Gas Energy/Spire following more than 31 loyal years of service.

He enjoyed working with heavy machinery, hunting, race cars and motorcycles. He taught various 4H classes for firearm safety and marksmanship. He loved history in general and military history in particular; but above all, he adored his grandkids.

Mike was a social person and had friends everywhere. No matter where he went, even on vacation in Arizona, he would run into people he knew from home.

He was an avid participant in competition barbecue and competed at The American Royal for many years.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Ardith Palier.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cara Palier; son, Byron (Trisha) Palier; and daughters, Heather Palier (Chris Hall) and Vanessa (Josiah) Stegner. Other survivors include his beloved grandchildren, Dayton Palier, Kamden Hall, Bryer Hall, Everly Palier and Hazel Stegner; younger sister, Jonna Clinesmith of Excelsior Springs; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions in Mike’s name to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Richmond. Phone: 816-470-0077.
