Roger Lee Bahs, 91, Excelsior Springs, went home to heaven Jan. 14, 2023.

He was born June 24, 1931, to Harold and Zelma Bahs in Nashville, Mich. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, driving trucks; and after the war, he went to school and became a mechanic for TWA and progressed to manager of training before retiring after 35 years. During this time, he met and married Delores Dingle of Kansas City. She passed in 1998.

Roger was a member and became a deacon of the Pisgah Baptist Church.

He married Wanda Shepard of Excelsior Springs, where they made their home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl Bahs. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Wanda; sister, Betty; daughter, Tracy Bahs and husband, Lenny Markley; sons, Gary Shepard and wife Debby, Steve Shepard, and Mike Shepard and wife Linda; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roger was a kind and loving husband, father and friend. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Pisgah Baptist Church.
