Wanda Jolene Marker (Dear, Sis, Mom, Grandma), age 78, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away on September 17, 2022 surrounded by loved ones, both in person and in spirit. She was born on Apr. 12,1944.

She was a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School class of 1963. Wanda married the love of her life on Apr. 19, 1963, and easily fell into the role of wife and mother. She enjoyed working in the garden, cooking amazing meals for her family, reading, crafting, tending to her flowers, and watching birds. She always had a fur baby close by as well. She was a life-long member of Pisgah Baptist Church where she took great pride in singing in their choir. She retired from The Excelsior Springs School District where she enjoyed working with children with special needs. Above all, she spent numerous hours supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She could always be found whistling loudly and grinning from ear to ear at the field, court, track, concert, parade, play, and school production. She was ALWAYS there!

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan (Joe) and Grace (Rene) Simmermon.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis Marker; two sisters, Donna (Robert) Martin and Vanessa (Bruce) James; three children, Denny Marker, Deana (Richard) Bergen and Marty (Christy) Marker; six grandchildren, Jinny (Ryan) Blakely, Megan (Ethan) Rosenboom, Nicholas Bergen, Andrew (Meghan) Morris, Noah Marker and Kane Marker; nine great-grandchildren, Nora, Charlotte, Sloane and Gordon Blakely, Maximus, Benjamin, Jillian and Abigail Rosenboom, and Jamie Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
