Wanda Joyce McKinley (nee Roberts) passed away peacefully on Aug. 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was 68.  

Survivors include her mother Dolores J. Roberts; sister Rinda (Doug) Bye; longtime friend, Jerry Frey; as well as a niece; two nephews; and her four beloved cats.  

She was preceded in death by her father James E. Roberts.  

She graduated from Lawson, MO High School in 1972. She graduated with honors from William Jewel College and received her Master of Public Administration from Park College, graduating with honors, in 1998. She spent 22 years in Lafayette, IN and for the last 16 years was employed as a Case Management Specialist with Valley Oaks Health, working with mentally ill clients. Wanda greatly enjoyed working with the staff and clients at Valley Oaks.  

She was also a proficient pianist and enjoyed playing in the band “The Timeless Trio”, performing at the North End Community Center in Market Square, in Lafayette. Wanda leaves behind many friends and relatives and her love, wit, and talents will be sadly missed.  

Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research.
