WILLIAM HOLTZCLAW
William “Billy” Holtzclaw, age 82, a longtime resident of Excelsior Springs, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at Liberty Hospital.
Billy was born July 11, 1938, in Elmira to Charles and Burnice (Fields) Holtzclaw. He worked in auto repair most of his career, and as a farmer prior. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing the fiddle and studying old-time fiddle music.
Billy leaves behind two sons, David Holtzclaw of Platte City, and Mark Holtzclaw and wife, Stacy, of Kansas City; a daughter, Becky Evans and husband, Billy, of Excelsior Springs. He is survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert “Bob” Holtzclaw and wife, Lois, of Lincoln; two sisters, Dixie Klinginsmith and husband, Wayne, of Chillicothe, and Wanda McElwee and husband, Bill, of Braymer.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, John Holtzclaw of Paola, Kansas; Larry Holtzclaw of Hardin; Charles “Jr.” Holtzclaw of Modina; and Wilbur “Wayne” Holtzclaw of Excelsior Springs.
Visitation was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at at Hidden Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral services followed at noon at Lawson Cemetery.
