Albertson sees promise in ES boys and girls track squads
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Varsity track and field coach Jonah Albertson sees potential in his Tigers as they prep for the season.
“We have a young team, but I feel we have a promising future that will show by the end of the season,” Albertson said.
Albertson, who enters his 12th season leading the program, has 60 boys and girls out for the sport. They include 19 athletes who participated in a junior varsity or varsity competition in 2019.
Albertson expects those returning athletes to help lead the program.
“We will continue to emphasize personal records as a benchmark for success throughout the season, and I expect great things by the time we get to the conference track meet in May,” he said. “Our athletes have shown they are willing to try new things and do whatever is best for the team as a whole.”
