Baxter grateful for lessons learned from prep wrestling

As Excelsior Springs senior Bailee Baxter will attest, there are many lessons to be learned from wrestling. Baxter is grateful for the lessons the sport has taught her. Wrestling has made Baxter the person she is, she said. Specifically, it has taught her to be a strong, independent person. “Throughout the four years I have wrestled, I have learned to never stop fighting because it is not over until you stop,” Baxter said. Baxter also has learned the importance offseason training, particularly from watching her friends wrestle, she said. “Watching some of my favorite wrestlers win at the state tournament has given me something to look forward to and wanting to work harder to get there myself,” she said. Off the mat, Baxter said has enjoyed her time in her math classes and favors that subject over her other classes. She has always been good at math, largely because of teacher Jeff Meyer, she said. “Mister Meyer makes math 10 times better and makes it much easier to understand,”…
