Kaelan Bedford quieted opposing bats when his summer baseball team asked him to pitch recently in the Perfect Game Midwest Regional World Series. Bedford, who’ll be a junior this fall at Excelsior Springs High School, tossed a no-hitter to lead Competitive Edge Black 2026 to a 5-0 victory over Wisconsin-based GRB STIKS Teal June 20 at Prospect Meadows Sports Complex in Marion, Iowa. “I found my rhythm and stayed consistent with firstpitch strikes to get ahead early to go along with my offspeed stuff working really well,” he said. Bedford, a Class 4 first-team all-state pitcher for Excelsior Springs this season in high school baseball, struck out nine. His outing helped him secure Most Valuable Pitcher honors for the tournament.
