Biermann weathers storm at Joplin
Less-than-ideal weather couldn’t stop Landon Biermann from securing a top-20 finish in his final high school boys golf tournament.Biermann, who graduated this spring from Excelsior Springs and has signed to play men’s golf at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, tied Hudson Shy of St. Charles West for 17th at Class 3 state competition last week in Joplin. Fighting through rainy conditions that left tree branches and leaves on the links at Twin Hills Country Club, he shot a 79 (+7) for his first 18-hole, par-72 round and a 75 (+3) for his second.It was Biermann’s third appearance in a state prep tournament. He finished in a four-way tie for 69th in 2023 at the Class 3 tournament and in a fiveway tie for 54th in 2024 at the Class 4 tournament.Biermann was among three Excelsior Springs boys who played in the tournament.
