Bowlers in Excelsior Springs roll for scholarship funds
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – On June 12, Tiger Bowl hosted the Social Distancing 6-Game Sweeper Tournament.
Eleven bowlers from around the area competed at the Excelsior Springs facility with the hopes of gaining scholarship funds. Austin Rucker took home the first-place prize of a $100 scholarship by bowling a 1,460 (243 average) for his six games.
Josh Oldham took second place, taking home a $75 scholarship for bowling a 1,320. Nicholas Hays finished third with a 1,279 and received a $45 scholarship.
Ryan Gluhm received a $35 scholarship for being the male high game non-qualifier. Sydney Whitfield received the female high game non-qualifier scholarship.
Tiger Bowl will host the Social Distancing 4-Game Senior Sweeper Tournament Friday. Check-in starts at noon. A game scotch doubles tournament also is slated that night, with check-in starting at 6.
