Excelsior Springs ran into a seasoned opponent in varsity boys tennis on April 4, when the Tigers hosted perennial Class 1 power Lafayette County of Higginsville. It was the Huskers’ sixth dual this season. By contrast, it was the Tigers’ season opener. The seasoned Huskers drubbed Excelsior Springs 9-0. “We played well at times in most of our matches tonight, but we have to focus on being more consistent with our serves,” Tigers coach Richie Marsh said.
